Purpose
Learn To Play (LTP) roller hockey is a instructional program designed for the beginner player ages 4 thru 8. This program will assist in the development of the necessary roller hockey skills for play at a competitive level through a series of skills and drills coupled with controlled scrimmages. This is a co-ed program for both boys and girls interested in learning how to play the sport of roller hockey!
Equipment Required
- In-Line Skates (No Black Heel Brakes)
- HECC Certified Helmet w/Face Cage
- Hockey Gloves, Elbow Pads, Shin Guards
- Stick (No Plastic Blades)
- Athletic Cup & Supporter
Format
Each season of LTP lasts 6 weeks. Your player will be taught the basic skills such as skating, shooting, stick handling and passing. Scrimmages will be controlled to instruct your player on positioning, offensive and defensive strategies.
Each player will receive a team jersey with crest and numerals.

Camp Emphasis: The purpose of this camp is to concentrate on the basics of the sport of Roller Hockey. Younger, less experienced players will benefit from the beginner level skills and drills portion of the camp. We will also mix in some non-hockey related games such as dodge ball and kick ball to add some variety to the camp. We will wrap up the week with our traditional water balloon fight where our campers have a chance to show the instructors a thing or two!

Camp Emphasis: The purpose of this camp is to concentrate on advanced level skills and drills in an effort to make the house level player a travel player. The camp will work on advanced skating, passing, stick handling and shooting skills. Team concepts such as breakouts, power plays, penalty kills, odd man rushes and live game situations will be taught. We will also incorporate dryland training including running, stretching and other cardio exercises.
